Micheal Jackson: Earth Song

SAVE THE FOREST! SAVE THE EARTH!

The Earth song, to me was quite inspirational. Specifically the time when the whole world reset and all the damage had been undone. I feel like, unlike his other songs, this one actually has a deep meaning. The start of the music video was when he led us through the jungle and how beautiful and luscious it had been. At that moment, I became intrigued. “If this is a song about the Earth, does that mean that its just Micheal Jackson talking about the Earth?” I contemplated. That’s when I noticed what that huge machine (which was coming closer and closer) was doing, it was lacerating the leaves and trees. A title wave of realisation swept over me. The song wasn’t about the Earth (well it was), it was about deforestation! But all my excitement soon got drained away when the scene, where Micheal was walking and taking in all the destruction that had happened, showed. Then, Mr Jackson started singing with his amazing voice. They then showed the native Americans, or Africans looking around, wondering where their home had gone. It was very heartbreaking and it gave me thrills when he sang the oooooooooh ooooooh part of the song with his phenomenal voice.
