The growth mindset columns
Love learning: To accomplish and fulfil your goals, you have to love learning and keep on working.
Concentrate: Life will bring obstacles but you just have to concentrate on your aspirations, keep your head clear and God will give you inspiration.
Have a go: Ever had that feeling when your heart tells you ‘yes’ but your brain tells you ‘no’ well here’s a piece of advise, follow your heart and have a go.
Never give up: When life brings you down you have to step up from the ground, yeah maybe it’s hard but once you succeed you will look back and be proud of who you’ve come to be.

Yes, it may not seem like it, but (in my old school) there was a time when I didn’t know maths that well and I needed to go to tuition every Thursday or Friday afternoon. Tuition to me back then was just a time to eat snacks and stay with my friends and I don’t think it really helped that much either. But in September 2016, I moved into Beech Wood Primary School. I was in year three and there I had this teacher called Mrs Smith. She was a good teacher and I liked her, and even though my life in year three was quite an adventure (something i’ll have to talk about in another blog) I enjoyed it. Anyway, my dad used to be the best at maths; in his school when he was younger, in fact both my parent tell me about how they were top of the year at my age and how they want me to be the best at school too (again another thing I have to blog about); so I was pressured to do amazing at maths (school overall). Don’t get me wrong I love school but maths was not my strong point. I had to love learning maths and concentrate on what they were teaching me because if I didn’t… well there was no point in learning maths if I didn’t. I also needed to have a go at those difficult math equations, and not give up when it seemed like I had failed. Sooner or later, I managed to get better at maths and now I’m in the top set in year 5. Hallelujah.
I told you I was going to make a post before the end of January and, by the way, if you ever have faced any difficulties in maths; here’s a website to help you: https://www.whizz.com/.
Thanks Banjo for your great contribution .
Hmm, I can relate.
My dad was a maths lecturer and my mom was also a teacher then.. I was expected to be a maths guru. I did believe In myself and passed too. But i still don't like maths. Hahaha.
